Chapel

It has been almost a month since I graduated from St. George's School. I've already started to miss the beautiful campus and some friends, even though the feeling isn't as strong since I'm enjoying my summer vacation at the moment. My friend who graduated last year told me that I will really start missing high school once college starts.

I took a lot of pictures of St. George's School during the last few weeks of school. One of my favorite sessions was shooting in the majestic chapel. I find the chapel exceptionally beautiful when it was empty.

I'm not religious, so I constantly found the mandatory chapel services pointless. Whenever I was in the chapel, I would stare at different parts of the architecture. (People probably thought I was spacing out, but most of the time I wasn't.) The stained glasses, chandeliers, and beautiful carvings blew me away all the time. I wished to absorb every detail of the architecture, every reflected ray of light with my eyes, yet there were just too many details to take in.

I had a really fun time shooting the chandeliers, and the combination of chandeliers and stained glass! They are truly beautiful.

I believe from time to time I will think about St. George's beautiful chapel. I enjoyed sitting in there when no one else was present; it was a quiet, smoothing atmosphere, ideal for pondering. However, I never went up to the very top of the chapel...I heard the view up there is magnificent. Maybe someday when I go back to visit, I will climb up the stairs.
