Before the Storm.

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I last posted. I have been back in California for almost a week. Next week, I'm finally heading over to Baltimore to start my college life! I'm a bit nervous but excited at the same time...

Anyways, I found some pictures taken during a short family trip up to 陽明山 (Yang-Ming Mountain) in Taipei. It was a beautiful day, right before a typhoon hit Taiwan.

The sky was azure, and I thought I could see clearer from the mountain than I previously could. For some reason, this shot is particularly blue...

We could easily see the ocean in the distance. Even though Taiwan's really small, it's amazing how you can see mountains, cityscape, and ocean in the same frame.

We could see the entire Taipei City! Since Taipei's located in a basin, you can see more mountains in the distance.

We went to the mountains right before a typhoon, so it was incredibly windy. It felt great to stand on a stone bench there and feel the intense wind trying to knock me down though.

This guy's pose reminded me of a rocker's "power stance" from Jack Black's School of Rock.
(You'll probably see more School of Rock references in the future. I love that movie.)

Like so. (Picture taken from premierguitar.com)

Lastly, I would like to end my post with my favorite picture of the day! I love how natural and relaxed my brother looks here.  It reminds me of some kind of summer-related advertisement, so I added a little caption "2014 Summer" in Chinese/Japanese (it's the same for both).

I guess that will be all for my summer blog posts. The next post will probably be about college! I hope everyone's had a great summer, and let's all work hard during the coming school year (or continue working hard at work if you don't go to school anymore) :)

-Veronica.
